2017 INQUIRE Europe-UK Joint Seminar

Finance in the 21st Century

19th-21st March 2017

Liverpool

The 2017 joint INQUIRE Europe-UK spring seminar will be held in at the Hilton in Liverpool and focus on the theme "Finance in the 21st Century"

One of the speakers at the recent Fidelity TEDx said "the financial services industry hasn't had its iPhone moment yet". Observing the speed of innovation it certainly doesn't feel far away. It was therefore easy to pick the theme for this year's conference "finance in the 21st century".

The program is extremely strong: Huy Nguyen Trieu will be providing opening remarks on disruption in our industry, then Andrew Ang will be discussing his work in factor investing. Bruno Biais will make the first of two presentations on blockchain, with Cam Harvey delivering the second. Scott Murray will then present more on beta before Antti Petajisto delivers the first of several papers on ETFs. On Tuesday that theme is continued with talks by Semyon Malamud, last year's INQUIRE prize winner, and Bob Whaley. We close our conference with our final talk on ETFs by Rabih Moussawi then Zheng Sun presenting on high dividend stocks.
